- My desk -

Another Day...

"Click, click, click" It's the sound I hear every night as I switch the wall-fan onto full bast before climbing up into my bunk bed! I think I would go crazy without fans here, or at least experience some serious lack of sleep! I'm kinda curious as to what I'll think of the warm, Ontario weather in July! One of the second years students from Canada send she wore sweaters for her whole month off last July- somethings telling me I'll simply enjoy it! :) It's beautiful now, as the sun has already set and the temperature has dropped some! The sun always sets here between 6-6:30.
Friday we wrote another exam...It's pretty funny to see everyone in our house getting prepped up for it! And then there's the beautiful feeling of finishing it! We had an extra day off- tomorrow we start are new assignment on postpartum care! Tonight I'm on night shift, and wondering what's going to happen. It's always a mystery, you just never know who or what's going to walk through those clinic doors, or what you'll be endorsed when starting shift!! Sure makes things interesting!
Yesterday we took advantage of the day off and went and got our class picture taken!! It was a blast- I'll have to post some when we get them! :)

Take care y'all - No I'm not being influenced by Americans! ;)
Till next time! ;) God Bless

Class of '09 and '10 (except Tammy :( I think she was catching a baby :))
Right-Left, Top-bottom

Bethany W, Julie, Janelle, Jordan, Ali, Kinshasa, Bri, Holly, Serena, Beth, Jen
Michelle, Jes, Niaomi, Steph, Bethany S, Sarah M, me,
Joy, Kendra, Medea, Joanna (not a student- Joy's sis), and Bea!
It’s a beautiful sunny morning, and the air is becoming increasingly warm and humid. This morning at 7:11am I delivered a beautiful little boy. His mother had come in fully, just minutes before “baby out!” Unfortunately there were a number of complications that required transporting the baby and mother to the hospital. It all happened so fast, and within less than two hours I was back at the clinic- trying to grasp what all just took place! Another baby in this world- anther miracle!
This past week flew by, with careful attempts to maximize each moment. It was cooking week again, this time with Brianna and Kinshasa. I thoroughly enjoyed it; however, it can get a little tricky with timing around shifts and studying.
Oh yeah…some headline news! I took my on my first continuity of care! That simply means I put my name on her chart, and instead of getting whatever midwife is at shift, they will call me in. So Lord willing I will be completing her total care (under a supervisor of course). Hers is a sad story though –she is very young, her partner has left her alone, and she is now living with friends. I pray that she would experience God’s love, and that I would allow Him to use me as a channel!
For the rest, things are going well… becoming more and more acquainted with this beautiful country and people! There’s so much to learn!
Hope all is well in your corner of the earth! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being able to keep in touch, and wish it could be more so... But know that I hold so many of you close to my thoughts and prayers!
“Till next time!”

A quick good night

Hello hello!! I'm off to bed now, but just finished posting a few pictures of when Diane and Tim were here back in January!
Things are continuing to go well! We just finished a few more classes and starting a few new ones. One of the supervisors went back to the States so we had a goodbye party for her yesterday! It's always sad to see people go, and sometimes it feels like it happens too much around here! You just get to know someone and they have to leave again!
Sending a big hug- missing you all!
Good night/good day whatever!:)
