It’s a beautiful sunny morning, and the air is becoming increasingly warm and humid. This morning at 7:11am I delivered a beautiful little boy. His mother had come in fully, just minutes before “baby out!” Unfortunately there were a number of complications that required transporting the baby and mother to the hospital. It all happened so fast, and within less than two hours I was back at the clinic- trying to grasp what all just took place! Another baby in this world- anther miracle!
This past week flew by, with careful attempts to maximize each moment. It was cooking week again, this time with Brianna and Kinshasa. I thoroughly enjoyed it; however, it can get a little tricky with timing around shifts and studying.
Oh yeah…some headline news! I took my on my first continuity of care! That simply means I put my name on her chart, and instead of getting whatever midwife is at shift, they will call me in. So Lord willing I will be completing her total care (under a supervisor of course). Hers is a sad story though –she is very young, her partner has left her alone, and she is now living with friends. I pray that she would experience God’s love, and that I would allow Him to use me as a channel!
For the rest, things are going well… becoming more and more acquainted with this beautiful country and people! There’s so much to learn!
Hope all is well in your corner of the earth! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being able to keep in touch, and wish it could be more so... But know that I hold so many of you close to my thoughts and prayers!
“Till next time!”
