Thanksgiving leftovers...

Hi again! :) Another weekly update! I won’t bore you too much with words- but instead will post some pictures of our CANADIAN Thanksgiving!!! Haha- it’s been a big thing here to distinguish it as “Canadian” since the majority of girls here are American! =) Last year not much was done about Thanksgiving (except American Thanksgiving! =)), so I thought we better make up for that this year! And it worked out well that I was on cooking duty. So I switched shifts with another girl to get the Monday off, and invited our directors, a few other couples, and the green house girls (the other “dorm” with 8 students)! We had 30 people over for dinner… it was so GREAT!! =) It was a ton of fun to forget about assignments/shift for a day and instead plan and cook all day!!! We even bought a turkey from the market and slaughtered it ourselves!!! How’s that for a group of midwives?? Haha…
Our oven wasn’t big enough to cook the bird, so I brought it over to a missionary couple’s place to use their oven. It was such a fun day, and everyone got into the mood!! Some of the girls were so amazing in helping all afternoon in the kitchen! As you can see in the pictures, we took the feathers from our turkey to wear in celebration! I was pretty exhausted by the end of the day- a very good, satisfying tired… =)
That was our big exciting news for the week! =) The clinic has been a little quieter this week, which probably means we’ll be swamped next week! =P
Till next time…
